How does it work?
If you're buying a scooter . . .
It's Simple! All you have to do is check out the listing and contact the seller via email or phone (if their phone number is listed). The entire transaction is between you and the seller.
Buy My Scooter's role is to simply connect you with the seller. We also allow sellers to give buyers a peace of mind by having the scooter inspected by one of our mechanics. These scooters are noted to be certified in their listings. We highly recommend buying a certified scooter.
If you're selling a scooter . . .
It's simple! Follow these easy steps to get your listing online!
1. Read the different listing options below and decide which fits your needs best. A used listing with one picture is now FREE to list on Buy My Scooter!
2. If you have selected any optional listing additions, such as featured status or extra pictures, make payment for your listing on our scooter listing payment page.
3. Go to our scooter listing form page and fill out and submit the form to provide us with all the necessary information to appear in your listing. Once the form has been submitted to Buy My Scooter, it will be approved by a customer representative.
4. Email the picture(s) of your scooter to .
If you are selling, you have 3 options:
1. List in the "Used" Section
This has been a very successful area to sell your used scooter. Listing your scooter in the used section is now FREE! Your free listing comes with one picture and full scooter information to be featured in the used section of Buy My Scooter. We have some optional listing additions that can be purchased to help sell your scooter faster, including featured status on our front page, guaranteed top 5 listing position in the used section, and extra pictures. 2. List your scooter in the "Consignment" Section
Putting your scooter on consignment at New Scooters 4 Less is a great way to sell your scooter with no hassle! Bring your scooter, title and driver's license into our Gainesville shop at 118 NW 14th Avenue, Suite D, Gainesville, FL, 32601. We'll do all the work of listing your scooter on Buy My Scooter and even display your scooter in our shop! We are a scooter store, so naturally people come to our shop looking for scooters. Your scooter will get more exposure than normal for this reason and therefore shall sell quicker! Once we have sold your scooter, we will call you, have you come in to sign the title over, and you can collect your check. Our commission fee for selling your scooter is 25% of the selling price. 3. List in the "Featured" Section
In addition to listing in the Used or Consignment Section, for only $10/month, you can have your scooter shown in the Featured Section. What's so important about this? Everyone who comes to Buy My Scooter, including potential scooter buyers, first lands on the Home Page. Once there you see the big Marquee Billboard on the upper right where pictures of scooters are rotated. This catches everyone's attention and offers potential buyers a direct link to your listing bypassing all the multiple listings on the Used and Consignment pages so you have a captive buying audience and no competition! Motivated smart sellers are using this to sell their scooter quickly and you can too! If you need to really sell a great looking scooter fast then consider listing it in the Featured Section.

We will keep your scooter listing on Buy My Scooter for one month, or until it is sold! If we haven't heard from you after one month, we may remove your listing from the site. Haven't sold your scooter yet? No problem! Simply contact us if you still need your listing to stay available!
Other Fees
1. Certified Listing - Listing your scooter as "Certified" is the best way to advertise a great looking scooter that's also in safe working condition! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND having your scooter certified by Buy My Scooter. Potential buyers are willing to spend more money on a used scooter if they know it has been checked out by qualified mechanic. Bring your scooter in and let us inspect it and certify it for you today!

In order to list your scooter as certified, you must make your payment and then submit the listing form and pictures. All certified scooters have to undergo and pass a 35 point inspection. When you submit your listing form, you will be contacted by a customer representative to have your scooter inspected. If you would like to make sure your scooter will pass the inspection you should review the Scooter Inspection Form. A scooter's inspection rating and inspection sheet will be placed in the listing along with all of the other information. Please see current rates below for listing in the certified section. The scooter must pass inspection with at least a "B" rating. We do not guarantee that your scooter will be certified. If your scooter does not pass certification, we will give you the filled out inspection form, but will not certify the scooter and the certification inspection fee will not be refunded.
Inspection Requirements
In order to list in the certified section, your scooter must pass an inspection by one of our mechanics. Inspection fee is $30 non-refundable. To pass inspection, your scooter must clear at least 28 of the 35 inspection points.
Grading System
28 - 29 out of 35 = B
30 - 31 out of 35 = B+
32 - 33 out of 35 = A
34 - 35 out of 35 = A+
2. "Top Five" - Listings placed at the top of a category get clicked first and naturally get more exposure. Make sure that your listing is one of these top five listings! For a small fee, you can make sure that your scooter is at the top of the page. The top five are placed at random, but you are guaranteed to be in the top five. If the top five have already been contracted out, you will be contacted and will be placed on a waiting list. Once someone in the top five sells their scooter and their listing is removed, we will contact you and place your listing in the top five. $5/month fee.
3. Listing Information Edits - You have 24 hours once your used listing is placed online to make sure that the contact information and scooter information you have submitted is correctly displayed in your listing. If there is an error in the listing and we made the mistake, the error will be fixed at no charge. If you need to make a change to the information in your listing after the first 24 hours that is different than the information you originally submitted, ie: exchange or tradeout a picture, new email address, new phone number etc., you will be charged an editing fee to change the information in your listing. $2.50 fee.
4. Picture Additions - All listings include one picture at no extra charge. If you want to enhance your listing to help your scooter sell faster by including more pictures of it, they can be added to your listing at any time for an additional fee. Up to 2 additional pictures may be added to a 1 picture listing as there is currently a maximum of 3 pictures total allowed per listing. $5.00 for one extra picture, $7.50 for two extra pictures.
Other Services
Pictures: Don't have a digital camera? Bring your motor scooter to us and we will take pictures of your scooter, resize the images, and list them for you. $15 fee.
Don't want to make the trip to us? We will bring our camera to you, resize and list for you! $35 fee.
Certified Inspection "On the Spot": Want to list your scooter as certified, but don't want or are unable to bring the scooter up to us for inspection? Let us come to you and we will do the full inspection at your location. $50 fee.
Pictures and Certified Inspection: Combination of the two services listed above. We will come to you and perform the full inspection on your motor scooter, take pictures, resize the images, and list. $75 Fee.
Delivery Services: Have you recently purchased a motor scooter from a seller on Buy My Scooter and want to have it picked up from the seller's Gainesville residence and have it delivered to your residence? No problem! We can arrange to have your new scooter dropped off to you. Give us a call to arrange a time. $40 Fee.
Scooter Maintenance Log: Have you recently purchased a new or used motor scooter from Buy My Scooter, New Scooters 4 Less, or another dealer in town and you know you will want to sell your scooter in a few years? Well make sure you can get the most you can out of your scooter! Contact us and let us keep your maintenance records on file for you! We will keep a record here for you and every time you have your scooter serviced, you can mail us a copy of the receipt to keep in your file (or save yourself the trouble and bring your scooter to New Scooters 4 Less for your service and maintenance and we will automatically insert a copy of your receipt in your file). Then, when you get ready to sell your motor scooter on Buy My Scooter, we will insert the information from your log into your online listing so interested buyers know you took good maintenance care of your scooter! What does this mean for you? More interest from potential future buyers as well as a greater resale value! $25 fee/year or $75 fee/4 years.
